Your website is now online. The next step of your online communication is to make it “visible” in the search engines to attract new potential customers.<\/p>\n

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization<\/strong>, and SEM for Search Engine Marketing. Both are about promoting your website in the search engines result pages.
\nThe practical goal is to put your website in the first position on all search engines for the keywords of your activity.
\nThe ultimate goal is of course to attract as many visitors as possible.<\/p>\n

To illustrate the importance of being well positioned on search engines result pages, here is a graph showing the distribution of clicks on the first page of Google:<\/p>\n

Also acknowledge that the percentage of clicks on the 11th position (second page) drops to 0.7% and continues to decline for the following results.<\/p>\n

SEO can be divided into two distinctive parts<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

1. Onsite Optimization<\/h3>\n

This refers to the optimization of the structure, code and some of your website content according to a set of rules established by the search engines and based on your activity’s keywords.
\nThis work should be done when creating the website. But it is often sloppy or completely neglected.<\/p>\n
